10. USING PATTERNS IN HOME DECORATOR FABRICS

from:

When we use patterns in our homes and in our interior decorating, sometimes we hit the mark right away and find the perfect patterns and colors. Sometimes we get it horribly wrong and nothing seems to match. So what is the best way to use patterns and associated colors in our homes, particularly our home decorator fabrics. Patterns within interior decorating do not always mean something that is repeated a number of times, but it could just be where you put your furniture or the colors you have on your walls.

You could start by using a particular pattern in a focal point somewhere in the room that you are decorating. This could be a piece of furniture, a feature wall, or something made from home decorator fabrics. You could use the pattern you have to run a reoccurring theme throughout the whole room, maybe with different things covered in the home decorator fabrics or maybe a color on a wall. Home decorator fabrics that you have could be used for many things, such as covering cushions, wall art or if you are bold enough, covering your chairs and sofas.

Fabric can be found anywhere and using home decorator fabrics can really bring some life back to that formerly dull space in your house. There are always bargains to be had when looking for home decorator fabrics, why not try a market or a small fabric shop. You may find some beautiful vintage fabric in the place where you were least expecting it. There are also big chain fabric stores that stock a wide variety of home decorator fabrics, you will be sure to find whatever it is that you need from there. There is also the option of using silk as your home decorator fabrics, for this you will probably have to spend a little more but the effects you can get with silk in your home can be magnificent.

When you are unsure about what home decorator fabrics to use in your home and in certain rooms, it may be worth taking a look at these tips and deciding from there. When you are decorating a smaller size room, keep in mind that smaller and more detailed patterns should be used. There are a variety of home decorator fabrics that could be used to make a space seem more interesting. Larger size rooms, will need larger patterns and if you use the home decorator fabrics correctly you will seemingly keep the room in proportion with itself.

Why not use your home decorator fabrics and the patterns to make the room you are decorating grander and when a room lacks any features, create one. Also keep your home decorator fabrics in tune and tone with your house and the architecture.

The last thing to remember when you are next thinking about using home decorator fabrics in your home through interior design, is to get lots of samples and make sure they look right in your home before buying a roll or a section.
